FACIALS
In todays modern and fast paced world, many of us live in a constant state of stress. A few simple tips to help reduce the effects of stress on a daily basis.
Listen to your skin – Your skin is often the first to show signs of stress. When under extra pressure, its defence mechanisms become weaker making it prone to sensitivity, flakiness, dull tone and irritation. If you start to notice these changes in your skin, take note – this is your body’s warning sign that you need to slow down.
As strange as it may seem – Breathe, deep breathing is a great tool that can be used anywhere or anytime you feel stress levels starting to rise. Before reacting to a situation, stop and breathe deeply. Just a few minutes of this has been proven to reduce cortisol (your bodies main stress hormone), calming the mind and easing tension in the body.
Eat Vitamins – your diet plays a huge role in helping your body to fight stress. The healthier and stronger your body, the better it can cope. Magnesium is known to regulate the nervous system, whilst vitamin B helps to produce serotonin and melatonin (B6 & B12), stabilise moods (B1) and produce energy (B9).

A Simple and Daily Skincare Routine:
BASED ON USING GERMAINE DE CAPUCCINI PRODUCTS!
Cleanse
Always wash off makeup before bed as excess makeup and debris will cause the pores to clog. Gently massage your cleanser into the skin then remove with a damp cloth or wash off with warm water – tip: we prefer not to use cotton pads or tissues to remove as they can leave fibres behind that dry out the skin.
Exfoliate
Exfoliating will remove dead skin cells and help to stop congestion whilst allowing your products to work more effectively. We recommend once a week for normal/dry and every 2 weeks for oily/combination skin – tip: if your skin is delicate or sensitive, exfoliate every 7-10 days by mixing your scrub in with a milky cleanser.
Tone
Toning will remove any excess cleanser, close your pores and rebalance the skin’s pH from the water. Pour a few drips into the palm of your hand and massage in – tip: do not underestimate a toner, they will help to remove chemicals from harsh tap water which dries the skin out.
Apply Serum
Serums have powerful effects on the skin as they have much smaller molecules than a moisturiser and are therefore able to penetrate the skin much deeper.
Eyes
The skin around the eyes is much thinner than the rest of the face which is why using an eye cream is important. If a cream is too thick, it can cause the area to become puffy – tip: use a grain of rice size per eye and gently pat around the socket. Too much cream too closely to the eye can cause puffiness.
Moisturise
Using the correct moisturiser morning and night will protect your skin against daily aggressions, provide essential hydration and help to address your specific skin concerns – tip: it is a good idea to rotate your moisturiser once in a while to treat your skin to a variety of active ingredients.
